Daring to believe home > backlash

Well, I've already described my complaint about Asda's shelf stacking. What do you think that complaining achieved?

Dear Sir,

I spoke to someone at your customer services desk on the 26th November to complain about the way that yoghurts are stacked in the refrigerators. I also mentioned that stock is often at the back or bottom of shelves, rather than brought conveniently to the front and top. I visit your shop every week on Sunday at around noon.

Having noticed no improvement this Sunday, I spoke to a staff member on the shop floor. I pointed out my problem with the yoghurts: when they are stacked so high that the top pots are touching the ceiling of the refrigerator, it is nigh on impossible to remove yoghurts for purchase. I also pointed out that I would prefer the milk to be presented in easy reach, rather than at the back on the bottom of the racks. Your colleague spent a long time assuring me that the situation, which I described, should not happen and that it was definitely not her fault, since she was on her lunch at the time.

Her alibi having been truly taken on board, I declined her offer for me to repeat myself to the department's manager and asked that she pass on my requests for improvement.

I visited your store again today, and happened to wander past the yoghurts.

If I am simply wasting my time pointing out the folly of poor shelf stacking, I would appreciate it if you would tell me. Alternatively, if my comments have a chance of being takeng into account, please let me know to whom I should address them. I suppose that, if all else fails, your building offers some nice brick walls for me to bang my head against.

I look forward to your comments on this matter.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Ashley Frieze.
