Sometimes I wonder
Dear Mrs White,
Please find enclosed the Council Tax Exemption Certificates for my housemates, Miss Fay and Mr Asher. Please note that you made an error in your last letter when quoting Miss Fay's name. If your records are incorrect, please correct them.
I am still mystified by the discount system that you have alluded to. This is probably because you have done just that - alluded - I would prefer a simple explanation. During the time that Mr Cowley was resident at this property, all the occupants were students, meaning that the Council Tax payable was nothing for that period. You wrote to Mr Cowley explaining how his Council Tax bill without the exemption would be approximately £200, yet you are asking for more than that from this group of tenants, when discount does apply.
Please explain how the discount system works, as follows, I need to know the total payable if none of us were students, the exact terms of discount due to Miss Fay and Mr Asher being students and the exact payment details for paying in monthly instalments (preferably by direct debit).
I apologise if I appear to be slow on the uptake, but I would like to get this right from the start rather than trying to correct mistakes retrospectively. The sooner I am clued up, the sooner I will forward the first payment.
Yours sincerely
Mr A S Frieze.
