When the council appears to be run by idiots...
Who said that the truth could be concealed?
Dear Sir,
I am writing regarding the council tax for the above property. I have two letters from your department, one which is a demand for council tax at the full rate for the next financial year, and the other which is a statement sent to Mr Cowley, regarding his potential liability for council tax.
I shall be forwarding to you, in the near future, copies of the student certificates for my two house-mates (Miss Fay and Mr Asher) and I would appreciate a statement of how much the Council Tax will be, once you have received and validated these certificates.
As for the information that I have at the moment; there appears to be a discrepancy between the demand (£456.15) and the statement sent to Mr Cowley. The statement says that without exemption, the sum of £229.02 would be payable for the next financial year - if this is the case, then why have I received a demand for £456.15?
I shall remind you of the details of our residence.
The property is being rented on shorthold tenancy by
Mr Ashley Frieze (who works)
Miss C.E. Fay (Animal Science Student at Newcastle University)
Mr J. Asher (Student at Newcastle University Medical School)
I would appreciate a detailed explanation of the Council Tax situation so that I pay exactly what is due and understand why.
Thank you, in advance, for your assistance.
Yours faithfully,
Ashley Frieze.
