I wouldn't hang you on the wall
for though you might
light up the room you were in
the others would seem dim
as though there were no light at all.

If you were a picture
you'd be a picture of the sun
emanating rays
amazing the viewer
clear bright and pure
beauty to be beheld by everyone.

If I were a man
who could declare my feelings directly
I'd be glad you're not a picture
I'd have picked you because you have a keen eye
acute brain; the ability to decide
whether or not to reject me...
... I'd wear sunglasses to protect me.
