Happy Day | home > backlash |
Where's the Fonz when you need him?
I'm not sure why I feel so cheerful. Maybe it's because I used up my bile in a flame contest with one of the CCl4 masons. Alternatively, perhaps it's because I spent some of this evening with DIY and experimental cookery. I have no idea.
I visited Safeway this evening on the way home. I needed a few items and some petrol. Shock horror, I saw two shining examples of good customer service. Now, Safeway is more expensive than Asda, so maybe you could argue that you get was you pay for. However, both of these examples were more of people doing their jobs with pride than with resources to waste.
So, thank you to the man in the fruit and vegetables, who not only showed me where to find the courgettes, but also decided that they were not as good as the ones he had out the back, which he then fetched promptly. Also, congratulations to the lady in the petrol station, who kept her head at the annoying lady in front of me - a woman who, after making some fuss about an itemised receipt, stood there tutting and sighing while it was being written.
Thanks go to IC24 for providing me with more free online time. The service is variable and I always try it expecting not to get a connection - sometimes I'm wrong.
It's been a good day. I'm sure the week will go downhill from here.
