Asda - where staff training leaves a lot to be desired.

Dear Mr Greenland,

While shopping at your store on Monday of this week, two things caught my attention that were not in keeping with the high standard of staff I expect from Asda.

The first thing I experienced, was at the delicatessen counter, where the assistant was serving cheese using his bare hands - I prefer the more hygenic handling through plastic bag. The assistant seemed to have an itchy nose, which raised my concern higher. I pointed out to this person that some customers might complain if he continued and he apologised, offering me a different piece of cheese to the one I had just been given - I declined.

The second incident was during the fire alarm that occurred that evening. The noise started and I asked the till assistant what it was - she did not know. I suggested it might be the fire alarm and she was still unsure.

Both of these incidents are minor, but suggest potential shortcomings in the level of training that the members of staff have received. I shall not be deterred from shopping at Asda, but I thought that you would benefit from these items being brought to your attention. Some customers will complain if this were to become the standard level of service.

Yours faithfully,

Ashley Frieze.

Though sent to the manager of the day, no response was received. Such a shame that they cared so little.
